Beneficiary Decisions and an Update on the CARES & SECURE Acts

Learn what you should consider when choosing and reviewing your beneficiaries. Additionally, major legislation changes have affected your ability to manage your financial accounts. This educational session will also highlight the changes of the CARES and SECURE Act with a focus on retirement accounts and other personal finance topics.
Certified Financial Planner Professional
Mr. Vega is responsible for providing on-site Financial Planning Services to public employer retirement plans, including financial planning seminars, investment education, and individual consultations in the greater Los Angeles area. He assists individuals with their retirement and financial goals through the development and delivery of customized financial plans.
Prior to joining ICMA-RC in 2008, Mr. Vega provided personalized financial planning at Bank of America Investments, Inc., and Merrill Lynch, where he specialized in retirement, life insurance, and long-term care needs. Mr. Vega has 16 years of industry experience and is a Certified Financial Planner professional. In addition to this certification Mr. Vega also holds licenses from the State of California for life insurance as well as FINRA Series 7 and 66 Registered Representative licenses.
Mr. Vega earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University, Long Beach. Mr. Vega has also earned two masters degrees: an MBA from California State University, Los Angeles as well as a MA in Economics from California State University Fullerton. Mr. Vega is also an adjunct instructor of economics at local colleges and universities.
